If you like the outdoors, you’re in luck–DuPage County is home to 500 miles (800 km) of trails and other can’t-miss attractions. The Morton Arboretum in Lisle was established more than a century ago and continues its mission to protect and improve its natural settings—the 1,700-acre site (6.8 square km) is home to more than 222,000 live plants, 16 miles of trails, and endless opportunties for exploration. Cantigny in Wheaton is the former 500-acre estate (2 square km) of Colonel Robert R. McCormick, the longtime editor and publisher of the Chicago Tribune, and is home to popular gardens, two museums, a visitors center, and an education center. The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County offers a wide variety of recreational and educational opportunities at 60 forest preserves and five educational facilities located all across the county.

Golf fans can join the crowd at Medinah Country Club, which has hosted iconic PGA Tour events (including the U.S. Open three times and the PGA Championship twice) and will be the home of the 2026 Presidents Cup. DuPage County has a rich golf history—it was the home of the country’s first 18-hole golf course and today boasts 50 different courses.
